Parish Service

As Christian Stewards we receive God’s gifts gracefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increases to the Lord. You are invited to take up your stewardship role in our Parish.

Ministry of the Acolyte: A ministry to which a person is specially appointed by the Church to assist the deacon and to minister to the priest. His duty is to attend to the service of the altar and to assist as needed in the celebration of the Mass. He may also distribute Holy Communion as an extraordinary minister at the Eucharistic liturgy and to the sick. An acolyte may be entrusted with publicly exposing the Blessed Sacrament for adoration but not with giving benediction.

He may also, to the extent needed, take care of instructing other faithful who by appointment assist the priest or deacon by carrying the missal, cross, candles and similar functions.

The ministry of acolyte is reserved to men and conferred by the bishop of the diocese or, in clerical institutes of religious, by the major superior, according to liturgical rites composed for the purpose by the Church.

Altar Preparation Team & Flower Arranging Team

Every week (except during Lent) on Saturday mornings (from 8.30am to 10am) we have a small group of dedicated ladies who are rostered to come and arrange the flowers to decorate the Church and prepare the Church for the Sunday Masses. They preform tasks extra to the work of the cleaners. The need for greenery remains an important factor, if a parishioner has a garden we can raid please contact us. If you would like to assist but are not confident, training and support will be given.

Altar Servers

We appreciate the enthusiasm, dedication and service that these children and young people give to our parish and the faithfulness of their parents who bring them to Mass each week. Our parish conducts regular training sessions for those who are in year 3 or have made their First Holy Communion; these are held on Saturday mornings and advertised in the parish bulletin.

A choir sings at each of our Masses providing us with wonderful music and hymns to help make the liturgy more meaningful and enjoyable. Please consider sharing your wonderful gift with us. The Columbarium is a sacred place on the parish property for the interment following cremation, of the ashes of parishioners and their immediate family. It is intended especially for those who love and have an affinity with the parish. We have several walls available to choose from and niches can be reserved. Information and application forms are available from the parish office and at the information table in the Church foyer.

Creative Liturgy

The church strives to put up meaningful decorations during important celebrations like Christmas, Easter, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Very positive feedback has been received over the past year and we want to do more with your participation. Why not join our team if you can sew, paint or are handy with your hands? We meet a few times a year to plan and produce the results. With more resources, anything is possible.

Extraordinary Ministers for Holy Communion

Our Extraordinary Ministers for Holy Communion distributes the Eucharist and Blood of Jesus during Mass. If you are interested in becoming a special minister, please contact the parish office for more information.

Finance Committee

The functions of the Finance Committee are to advise the Parish Priest on any financial matters and cash and bank transactions for the Parish including accounting and internal control systems. We prepare an annual budget of income and expenditure, assist the Parish Priest to keep current and accurate records of the Parish, ensure the Parish has a sound financial position and assist the Priests in implementing and supervising planned giving programmes.

Parish Planned Giving

In our Parish, we have a wonderful system of planned giving programme. You are able to contribute regularly to support the vibrancy of our parish community and to allow us to plan and budget for expenses. If you would like to join the program, you may contribute either via Planned Giving envelopes or via the Direct Debit System through your bank. Kindly complete the treasure card or Direct Debit application form, available in the foyer, and pass it along to our parish office, during office hours or email directly to
All contributions remain confidential.
Direct Debit system saves your time and energy, takes very little time to set up, and takes the worry out of finding your cash each week to put into the envelope.
We have two collections. The First Collection is our Parish Priests’ primary source of income. It is also for the support of sick and retired Priests, Priests in needy Parishes and our Archbishop. The Second Collection is the Parish’s primary source of income. The money pays our Church running expenses like hosts, Altar wine, candle, electricity, buildings repair, ground maintenance, equipment, faith formation, future parish development.
For further information on how you can contribute to our Parish Planned Giving Programme, contact: Parish Office (08) 9399 2143 or email
